Embrasé - Zacharie - 3/13/2026 AW rune search! Vague about Zeek's injuries from Abbadon for now lol Skill - Ranger 1/5 Dreams happened sometimes. A lot, really. But it was less usual for the big ones, where the whole den and everyone else had the same dream. He'd been too young to remember, or even care, really, about the finer points of the last few. Now Zeek was older. And he knew the world wasn't always kind. Unsafety felt real. Especially when you could stand outside the cave that had kept you, and see fractures of blue spread across the earth in all directions. Was this the work of the Big Bad Wolf? Or something worse? Zeek decided it didn't matter. He was going to be the biggest, baddest wolf, no matter what anyone else said or did. And it would start with finding glowing rocks and saving the whole pack. Nobody would ever cross him, then. Je vais trouver des Runes. He announced, looking over his shoulder at whoever else was in earshot. Even if they weren't, he'd promise it to the sky. And then regardless of anyone else's opinion on the matter, loped off as ungingerly as he could into Jakten's wilds to hunt. RE: Embrasé - Magnolia - 3/13/2026 Growing age meant growing freedom meant growing confidence. Something Magnolia didn't really need, had in spades already, and was keen to hoard like a dragon on a bed of treasure -- but, to be fair, as much could be said about anything the young girl took a shine to. She was awake, too, pacing the edge of the den, not ready to take to the nest/cuddle-puddle yet and filled with energy. She, too, had been thinking about the dream.
Thinking that perhaps, she should do something. How would Mum and Dad be proud of her? How would Jakten know she was one of them? Then, like he felt the urge to do something too, Zeek announced he was going out searching for runes. Magnolia loped right after him with a growl of agreement, tail curling high with delight and wagging over her hips. RE: Embrasé - Ezra - 3/17/2026 skill: Guardian Ezra had promised Jaxxon he would keep an eye on his hoard of kids (the ones he was aware of at least) the best he could. At least until they were more than capable enough to defend their own. So when the world started shaking and great ruptures torn open the earth leaving chasms of glowing blue, Ezra had a mind to stay a bit closer guard. Typically, Ezra hadnt much the same touch with children as his aunt Wardruna and pup-sitting had never before been his thing. He would stay at a good distance. Making sure they were okay and once their mothers or sisters came back around, he would be on his way. But now the moment one of them shouted out that he was going rune hunting, Ezra immediately perked up from the brush where he had been resting, eyes closed, merely listening to their chatter from in the den. Eigi án mín ert þú eigi.Came a Grumble from his lips as he hauled himself up off the ground and went trotting after the two run-aways. RE: Embrasé - narrator - 3/17/2026 Rune Discovery : 「 Success!」 The world that fractures and aches has bled over again to the surface. The fissures that open look like raw ragged wounds. It mirrors the pain deep at the core, where the wounds have festered and where they have rotted. It is no shock that the world will reflect this. The shock may come to those that live there, of course, that they have to witness such a thing in their lifespan. What a brutal game Mythris plays. Two young wolves start the trek to search for runes, they are confident, if not a bit foolhearty. Thankfully they are not alone as they seek out the runes. The watchful eyes of the guardian are not the only ones on the two young wolves. Confidence is helpful, but that cannot be the only thing if they hope to save the world. All around Mistveil, save to the mountains in the north, the world has split. The cracks can be seen from above, raw and seeping with an energy that cannot be controlled. It does not take too long until there is an errant, startled cry. Rocks slide and tumble down the edge of the mountain, taking with them something else - a blip of a glow can be seen. Drire! drire, sepafire ut sepal lok!The rune was caught in the debris, tumbling towards the lake guarded by the mountain itself. The voice echoes in each of your heads, desperate and keening. Sepa shin! You must. RE: Embrasé - Zacharie - 4/2/2026 Be quick! Zeek was very quick! Unstoppable, even! Way faster than Magnolia, or even Ezra (ugh, babysitters, did he think they were pups?) He bolted after the rockslide in blatant disregard of potential dangers, howling his certain victory to the sky despite not, in fact, being any closer to possession of the rune than the others. I will get it! RE: Embrasé - Magnolia - 4/18/2026 A tag-along? Alright, Mags would allow it. Ezra didn't seem eager to get in the way, only stalk after them. That was fine. It was better for others to see her magnificence, was it not?
Eager paws carried them swiftly on their search, and results cropped up before long. Not exactly the kind she was expecting, but hey, falling rocks were common in the peaks. Maybe... not this many at once, but things had been shaky and peculiarly blue lately. Not a big deal, considering it wasn't the blue they were searching for. Did she know what they were looking for? No. But she'd been promised help, right? And the voice didn't disappoint. Quick, it said, and Magnolia spurred into action alongside Zeek with an excited squeal. Two reckless bastards charging headlong into danger. What could go wrong? RE: Embrasé - Ezra - 5/17/2026 skill: guardian A voice called out in his mind. All three of their minds, it seemed, for the two pups began running straight towards disaster without an ounce of fear or understanding. Were they so brave? Likely not. Just ignorant to just how badly their little bodies could be fucked up by the tumbling rocks. For a split second Ezra is frozen. PTSD rocking him suddenly as flash-backs of finding his deceased father in rubble taunt him. STOP!He would attempt to yell out, if only to get them to pause just a second for him to catch up, for he knew it would not likely stop their bull-rush towards the tumbling blue stone. Slower than he would prefer due to his limb, he hoped his slowness would equal out to their small limbs and he would be able to pass them, charging for the blue rune himself. If he were to get it first, he could flag them with it, pulling their direction away from the landslide, or so he thought. RE: Embrasé - Zacharie - 5/18/2026 Zeek was not very tall. And not very long-legged. And carrying a somewhat distorted ratio of protective padding compared to his sister which, while useful for throwing his weight around and wrestling, didn't lend itself to contests of speed. He was quickly overtaken. By both of them. Hey!He yowled. Not stopping. No way! I said I would fucking get it! YOU stop!An indignant ear splitting bark followed that probably could have caused a landslide in its own right. RE: Embrasé - Magnolia - 5/18/2026 Magnolia still looked as if she might've been taking after Saga in size (and would for several more months), but that still left her taller than Zeek. She didn't, for once, really think about getting there first per say, not until Ezra shouted for them to stop. Magnolia growled in response, kicking higher into gear even though the adult had little problems catching up and overtaking her. Only then did she squeal a note of indignance, followed by a sharp:
No, YOU! Zeek was screeching, too, and Magnolia snarled an unhappy sound as if agreeing with her brother. This was absolute bullshit, and she wasn't about to give up the blue rock she and her husky-heathen denmate had said they were looking for. Ignorant? Absolutely. Still brave. RE: Embrasé - Ezra - 5/21/2026 skill: guardian Faen!Ezra curses as both children do not heed his warnings. What could he expect? They likely so would only listen to their parents (maybe not even Jaxxon) and Ezra could have easily heard them saying ‘your not my mama!’ in protest. Still rushing past them, Ezra quickly grabbed the heavy slab of rock in his jaws. It would have been easier to just continue on to the other side of the land slide for his own safety, but turned around in order to bring both himself (and the blue stone they wanted) back into their direction. Yet Ezra was by far a fast or agile wolf and as a tumbling rock smacked into his flank, Ezra fell, the rune was tossed from his jaws. At least, out of the path of rolling stones, which mostly had come to a stop at this point. Fuck these runes. Fuck the spirits of Mythris. Fuck these kids. |
