RE: Destiny Islands - Tasik - 5/10/2026

It was over, the seal now layed lifeless. Tasik smiled again at Anemone, glad that she was just as grateful for the seal as he was. Even though she didn't believe in his faith, she was still thanking the seal for its bounty. A good sign of a righteous soul. Tasik remained quiet though, letting her go to eat her fill. The pale wolf went to his own part of the carcass, cutting away slowly at the thick blubber until he reached red meat. Then the gorging would begin.

With nothing else left to distract them, Nemo would make short work of filling their belly, which didn't take much at all. She was surprised for a moment, only to remember how little she had eaten over the past few months, and then it all made sense. While it was not enough to sustain them long-term, they would see if Tasik would allow them to hang around the carcass until they felt strong and healthy.

Really, they couldn't have come across better quarry. The thick blubber and rich flesh would aide Anemone's recovery rather than a scrawny deer might. Honestly, she couldn't thank the man enough. Unwilling to interrupt Tasik from feasting, they padded away a few steps to give him some space, and stretched out over the cold sand, relishing the feel of food in their belly. They would have to wash the blood from their muzzle at some point, but for now, they let themself relish the victory.

RE: Destiny Islands - Tasik - 5/19/2026

It didn't take long for Tasik to completely gorge himself on the rich meat and blubber. He was now a very stuffed wolf, food nearly bursting out of him as he walked away with a fat gut. It made him look even more obese then he actually was, especially with no great height to aid the difference in width. Slowly he made his way over to where Anemone rested, surprised at himself for wanting to spend some time with the woman. She was nice, quiet. The kind that followed his directions without a second thought or argument. A very sensible girl if you asked him.

You are of good talent, miss. I'm glad you showed up when you did. Thank you for the help. His voice was deep and rich, eyes focused and bright. Forgive my coldness earlier, for I'm more used to be alone then anything else. My old pack just had different ways of being with one another. Kind of hard to explain, more on the religious or spiritual side. Tasik took a moment to gather himself, stretching out his body along the sandy beach. The damp air clung to his coat as he waited for the meal to digest. Where do you hail from, if I haven't asked before? Where do you plan on going from here?

RE: Destiny Islands - Anemone - 5/21/2026

Anemone had almost fallen asleep by the time Tasik had finished his meal. Pawsteps approaching her half-dozing form was enough to rouse her, though she was still mighty relaxed. Nothing like a nap after a rich seal-meat meal... which she would get to later. They let the man approach, unbothered, only raising their head when he began to speak.

She noted, with some humour, his distended belly. Clearly she was the only hungry wolf here, though it appeared he was better fed all round compared to her. Nemo gave him an easy smile, appreciating the compliment from someone who was obviously talented. Same to you, partner. She returned, playful, easy. You really saved my skin there. I might have starved if you didn't appear out of thin air. Speaking of which, he was taking this mighty well... though she suspected he was travelling alone to begin with, unlike her.

The assumption was almost immediately confirmed as he went on, surprising Nemo at her own perception. Oh yeah, I've met my fair share of the spiritual kind. Nothing to apologise for, though, really. They assured him, a warm smile on their face. Really, she could deal with worse than him. Nothing wrong with being a little antisocial!

She watched as he made himself comfortable, spreading his pale form out over the equally pale sand. From nowhere, really. Nemo had been a nomad for most of her life, never quite settling until she met Paz. The thought of the woman brought a great melancholy over her heart, so she quickly dismissed the thoughts. I've travelled ever since I could be on my own. In fact, I was still travelling when I came here. Seastar and her pups probably missed her fiercely, but she hoped they didn't wait for her. They would be okay. They had to be.

As for where to next... she sighed, then laughed. I have no idea. Anemone admitted, suddenly feeling aimless. I've honestly just been trying to get by. Surviving, I guess, as best as I can. It was difficult to think of what came next when every day felt like she got closer to death. Maybe when winter's over I'll plan ahead. She wasn't so sure, though. Maybe she'd come to appreciate the nomad life again, or try to settle. Time would tell.

And, yourself? Where you're from, where to next? They asked, turning to Tasik, having turned away from him briefly in thought.

RE: Destiny Islands - Tasik - 5/22/2026

Anemone layed there all fat and happy, looking cozy as she rested from the long haul of the hunt. Tasik didn't want to disturb her much, but when her head raised to see him, a smile warm across her face, he knew that she didn't mind. We saved each other, balance was restored. Just as it should be. He smiled back at her, fully relaxed on the beach, still laying out across the sand. Then she surprised him, telling him that he wasn't the first of a spiritual nature to come across.

Maybe there was some hope for her yet, that she was able to show such understanding to one that was different from her. A kindness now shown in his eyes, the icy look in them now gone from before. Pale grey ears perked up to listen to her tale, curious of her travels. A wandering soul much like him, though this time without a purpose. A question then coming back to him.

I'll keep going to wherever I am needed. Where I can make myself a home near the ocean, perhaps find others like me. But for now, I am okay with how things are. Was he truly? Eventually the bitterness of a lonely lifestyle would come back to haunt him. But he was settled for a time with just being on his own, quieted and comforted by his teachings and his own mind. Yet this girl was somehow different. Already she had shown him this. A thought rose in his head at that point. Would you want to come with me?

RE: Destiny Islands - Anemone - 5/28/2026

Anemone had never considered herself as a spiritual wolf, but the words coming from the pale man made sense, sort of. She wasn't sure what balance meant, much less in terms of this world, but she decided to take it as some sort of karma. They helped each other, and balanced it out. No one owed anyone a thing. It was a nice thought. Nemo didn't like to be in anyones debt, especially not someone she just met. Tasik seemed like a nice guy, but she barely knew him.

He told her he was travelling as needed, though he had thoughts of settling near an ocean. She smiled, nodding. The ocean was a lovely place. They had missed it while they were tied down inland, always drawing them back to hear the roaring of the ocean, crazy winds and the smell of salt on the air. It was home, whether she liked it or not. Now, it was all she had of her old world. That was a sad thought, wasn't it?

She was surprised at the sudden offer, enough to make her ears prick, but she was quick to smile again, genuinely happy at the offer. It was something offered freely, not a promise, not something to be tied to, just a simple offer to travel as far as she wanted with him, or at least that's how she interpreted it. Sometimes, it was better not to ask, and instead let time take its course and decide for her.

Sure, sounds fun! Or, freeing, I guess. It'd be nice for someone to have my back. Tasik was still a stranger, but the fact he stuck his neck out for her, also a stranger, was very telling. He was a good soul shielded by an icy exterior, someone who was good to have around. Hopefully once the weather warmed, she would be able to help him hunt properly, and not act as mere bait for any bites or kicks that came their way.

RE: Destiny Islands - Tasik - 5/29/2026

Tasik began to find himself feeling comforted by her presence, just knowing that having someone around wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Solitude was good of course, sometimes even better. But Anemone had shown him that being able to rely on others wasn't the biggest headache in the world as much as he once thought. Laying down with his body flat against the sand, he began to relax as he listened to her speak, along with the sounds of the ocean waves.

Good, I'm glad to hear it. Who knows where this path will take us, but I'm looking forward to the journey. Soft eyes replaced the once cold stare he had given her in the very beginning, a smile still happily placed across his lips. We will get some rest, then head out when ever you are ready. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this world. I'm sure you are too. A nice ending to round out the exciting events that had unfolded. He just hoped that she was as excited about the road ahead as he was.
