Youre my pillar, my hearts fulfiller - Raisa - 4/7/2026 Some days, Raisa wondered if she shouldn’t have just given it all up to travel. No worries or responsibilities, nobody relying on her, nothing to do but decide where to put her feet down next. If she was merely half the woman she thought she was, she knew she could never seriously consider leaving her friends and family, but still. Sometimes, it was nice to get lost in what could have been had she taken any other path. A crown atop her brow, Ichorwood still her home, all her family surrounding her; a life on the move, seeing new sights, worrying for nobody past herself. She always had been so happy moving about Mythris freely, finding new things and enjoying new places! She'd always loved being home most, climbed on by Koku's kids, snuggling with Raisa, hunting with Akuji, playing with her siblings, mimicking her Father.
As far as plot twists and surprises went, though? This was one of the best, and she’d pay the price of those other possibilities to stay right in Northfall with Bogart. With their growing family. Their possibilities. The mission had gone well, of course. It was a simple message delivery, not some peace negotiation attempt, but it still felt amazing to be able to head home with good news for Wardruna. It felt good to be of use! With how hard it was getting to bring back anything worthwhile to eat, she’d been feeling like a half-assed Huntress. At least all the piss she was producing went to good use marking the borders! >.> She headed away from Elysium southbound, intending to swoop the other way around Avon than they'd come; hoping that skirting along the treeline of the howling river and the royal wisterian woodlands would save them from the deep snow-drifts of the open fields. There would still be meadow to cross between there and the grove, but then they'd be able to hug up the coast via ichorwood and meet back up with Northfall a little more rested than plowing through feet of snow would leave them. It also afforded a little more time to enjoy being out and about, and Raisa was nothing if not selfishly willing to spend more quality time with Bo. As things were, they were still so new to one another! It felt good to just... be together. Travel. Learn each others habits away from the monotonous drone of pack life. It was growing cold, though, and tonight it seemed not even the pines could block all of the chill. Flakes swirled around Raisa's ears, settling on her back despite shaking out her coat every mile or two. She kept hoping to find somewhere sheltered to rest, but the riverside didn't offer many good places. Any, really. She forged on at a trot, limbs heavy, muscles tight. Her... everything hurt. She'd been sick all day, chewing on snow, hacking the water back up again half the time. Every symptom she'd suffered so far seemed so intense today, and she wanted nothing more than to curl up with Bogart and get comfy. Stony-faced and movements jerky, Raisa squinted at a glow in the distance. The fuck is that, she mused out loud, grumbling, tail arching higher and chin lifting as if she could intimidate the answer from the forest. Her voice softened: Bo, you see that too? Her pace picked up a little. |
