let your heart decide - Aiesha - 4/16/2026

This thread is set post-BWP & post-Tianlong visit, but will remain vague as the visit thread is ongoing!

The enthusiasm of Aiesha's return carried her swiftly through the halls of Satriya, to the bloc of noble-owned apartments which had been graciously given to her, her father, and their ilk.

They had once shared such a space within the monolith—it was to this accommodation that Aiesha drifted; in that transient way that youth conveniently forgot important things—she had put aside the argument with Senmut in order to focus on making herself useful in other ways, and by now saw her dream realized. Paying no mind to the fact that she had not seen her father since that moment, not even to tell him or anyone of her desire to visit Tianlong, Aiesha hurried to the door and then through it.

What she found was—an empty room. Yes, it was her father's... However, it did not look like anyone had slept among the furs there. It had become more spacious when the nebet had her own things removed, and there remained a void from where her sleeping place, oils, and tableau had once been.

Father? She called out with a vague sense of unease—and the walls caught her voice, with no rejoinder.

RE: let your heart decide - Khaemwaset - 4/16/2026

he is not here. but he has come back.
khaemwaset was not a man who invaded the rooms of those below him. it was not his way to be so intrusively possessive, and that was why these thoughts of jealousy and threat had been so wrathful for him to bear these weeks.
Horus stood silhouetted by the lintels, but he did not enter. something about the unused and austere space made him think more coldly of senmut, who was not with his own wife, but following in the wake of the satriyan queen.
holding a fan, even.
he has become a priest again, or demoted himself to fellahin, i do not know. khaemwaset studied aiesha, the interplay of senmut's coloration and senmut's emerald eyes, the scarlet against the sunlit hue of new leaves.
senmut had become confusing and his actions embarassed pharaoh, who counted the man among his mentors.
you have been away, and here he straightened, conveying that he and she moved on from her father. how were your travels? she had not been alone, and her coat alone carried a half-dozen fragrant scents, both familiar and not.
but khaemwaset did not move from his place at the door.
