It Was Worth It, Wasn't It? - Jökull - 4/16/2026

They had gone through hell for a future that wasn't guaranteed. Then dumped back into the world with a heavy injury to show for it. Jökull remained bedridden for days now, stuck within the walls of a massive stone castle. There Valkyrie helped to care for him, bringing food and tending to his every need as best she could. He could feel how every bone ached and throbbed, the cracks from all the heavy breakage screaming at him constantly. It was enough to deprive him of any decent sleep for many nights.

Tired and grumpy, he would give anything to go back home and forget any of this ever happened. On the bright side, quite literally, the world had been reborn. Sunshine spread throughout the land, banishing any clouds and darkness that threatened to take it over once more. Grasses and flowers bloomed over the vast open lands. Forests sprang back to life in their full glory. All of the wildlife was back in full force, seemingly taunting the predator while he was still useless and frail. God damnit all! This wasn't fair! Jökull tried his best to get a little more comfortable within his enclosed home, stone surrounding him like a prison. Please get here soon, Valkyrie.

Valkyrie Gabrielle DeGrave
The winter winds and snows had slipped away to revel a sun that felt like it had been hidden for eons. This morning the Valkyrie sat on one of the nearby balconies to gaze across the horizon as the sun rose. It brought vibrant purples and pinks, oranges and reds, an array of hues that burned fiercely across the skies.

Flicking a single ear the woman smiled a little, feeling those onyx lips twitch gently at the corners as she sighed. The beasts had been slain, the sun was whole again, the wolf of Mythris had calmed. Mythris was whole again.

As she reminisced the large brute of a woman heard stirring behind her and rose instantly, no hesitation in her step as she trotted to the side of her lover. Pressing a nose gently into his neck she breathes in his scent, a long inhale and a soft hot exhale against his fur, his skin, to remind herself why she had done this. Val's eyes slipped closed as she smiled and pulled back a little to look upon her injured mate.

My love... Can I do anything...? She asked softly, gently sinking to her knees beside the male to grow closer to him as she awaited anything request he might have for her. She would die for him, as was shown in the doors, and she would do anything again to ensure his life and the future for them and their possible litter that might come one day. Opening her eyes she smiled weakly, trying to push past the woe and concern for her Jökull.
