Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Saga - 8/12/2026

Backdated to July 12, 4 days after the fight Assumed to be with Rurik Snuh Abaddon Magnolia Laurel Ottilie Lenore (?) Zacharie

Saga rocked on the back of... someone. Sometimes it was black fur, sometimes white, sometimes silver and red. Sometimes Saga was coherent enough to pay attention and.... most times, she was not. Her wounds were great, and only between luck and the scraps of moss she told the others to shove in the gaping lacerations did she make it home at all. Had it been an option, she would've asked them to find a chunk of bark big enough to drag her, but that would not have sufficed up the mountain. As it was, she was lucky she only had to walk sparcely, when carrying her was impossible. Even then, she needed someone on each side. She shook and panted with fever before the end of the first day, halfway home, and longed for Eldritch's wisdom, too weak to go looking for herbs herself. It took two to carry her, the wounds on her undercarriage so great she could not just drape like a pelt over one.

But the smell of Jakten woke her.

The scent of Jaxxon heavy against her senses.

She shifted, tried to lift her head, but the crackle of half-scabbed, half infected wounds stopped her; a whine keening from her bruised throat, jagged with wounds and patched with moss and spiderwebs. The sound reverberated deeper, and the flex of her stomach muscles made her flinch even harder -- the even deeper wounds crossing over and over again there stretching, pulling, cracking and oozing with the same half-infected and half scabbed dilemma; wounds desperately trying to heal but dirty and foul. Her eye fluttered open, and she was reminded that there was now only one -- and, go figure, the one her Mother had already mauled. Couldn't erase that memory at least, oh no. A ragged, gaping hole was all that remained of her right eye, tattered above and below and beside and -

Saga sucked a slow breath through her teeth, dizzy with the wave of pain that followed the panic. She wanted to tell someone to call for him, for her mate, the love of her life -- but she knew it would hurt. Her gaze flickered elsewhere, around her, that single crimson orb desperate for someone who understood.

Idly, she wondered if Ezra and Amunet had made it back without fuss, and how they were. She wondered how Frigi and Calixte had been in her absence. If Nyra missed their lessons every day -- how long it would be until they could start them again, considering she would now have to compensate for her new situation.

Saga shuddered a sigh and closed the singular eye once more, trembling, silent.

RE: Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Jaxxon - 8/12/2026

Skill:

Jaxxon Douglas Kinsey
Patrols, that's all he'd been doing since they left, since Joxer had resurfaced on the wrong side of the tracks, and today was no exception. It was getting dark, the sky was lit with vibrant hues of colors that only a painter could capture, one side of the sky revealed the sun split by a vast expanse of stars that separated it from its counterpart the moon. Jaxx placed his nose to the ground, scenting for anything amiss when the winds shifted. They brought familiar scents on its dancing waves and it caused him to freeze.

The Einvald didn't hesitate as the aroma of fresh flowers, grass, and wet stone pulled him from his thoughts and he raced towards the scent. His paws dug deeply into the earth as he ran, his legs pumping wildly below him as he carried himself towards the scents of injury and his mate. All other thoughts had vanished as he neared her, the scent of wounds and blood staining the air as he pulled himself closer and closer.

When he arrived, he stopped. Once more frozen in place a few feet away Jaxxon stared at the woman carried by her siblings, Abaddon behind them looking exhausted and worn from their trip, he blinked once and whispered a soft No, Before he rushed to her side.

Her injuries were severe, her stomach was torn and her body was bruised and battered, her eye... Her eye was missing... Saga, He whimpered as the man swooped on her and came to her side fully. He looked her over, looked to Snuh and Rurik before looking back to Saga. He eyed his children there with her momentarily before he shook his head and clenched his teeth together.

This was all his fault, he should have never let her go without him, how could he have set her up for the danger she'd fallen prey to? Jaxxon whimpered again and brought his lips to his wife's audits. I'm here, He whispered before placing a gentle kiss to her temple and throwing back his head to call for Eldritch and her knowledge of medicinal things.

RE: Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Ezra - 8/12/2026

When Ezra and Amunet had split from Saga, she had been left whole. Two pups found, a continue on for the others still in play as the search party moved further northeast. Their father left to wait at home for word.

Ezra and Amunet had returned south. Amunet's own sister and children had been separated in the Great War of the World too. (Which secretly were Jaxxon's too. Man, take care of yo kids!!)

Apparently in the time spaced between them something had gone horribly wrong. The pups - Ezra counted bodies - he thinks they are all here now?! Ezra could hardly keep count! But Saga …

Someone intercept the Völva. She may need help carrying her medicines. The Harbinger snaps to the search party, for any who might be quickest to the task. Red eyes hot with rage. The rest - Explain to your Einvald exactly what the fuck happened here. Who did this?!

RE: Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Magnolia - 8/20/2026

Magnolia was fast, her newly sprouting limbs swifter than ever, but she hadn't been able to fetch help quick enough to lend her Mother assistance she'd really needed. Seeing Saga so... bloody, and small, and hurt, it was perhaps the most terrible thing she had ever witnessed; The hole in her skull, gaping, crying red as bright as the orb that'd once been there. Her stomach, her neck, torn to ribbons, her soft silver pelt matted in blood.

And, in a remote part of the back of her mind, she knew it was her fault for not running sooner. For not fighting harder.

She followed after the solemn party as they finally returned home, hearing the tales of travel and reunions she'd missed out on. Ottilie had wandered the plains outside the Howff, Zacharie had seen a great fire just like she and Laurel had but in GOLD, and her Mother hadn't just found her children... she'd found her own littermates, too. Snuh and Rurik, she had introduced later through a hoarse, broken voice choked with more blood.
Fox's.
The woman who had warned her all her life about meeting other Fox's from Snow Peak had called two into her service, to her side, to the pack! Magnolia would pass her own judgement. Make sure, especially now, that these family members did not mean to pull the wool over her Mum's eyes and drag them back to the hell Saga had once described.

When they drew close to the borders, her Mother seemed to know, rousing. She looked... so fucking pitiful. Panicked, perhaps, but also... not quite. Desperate, Magnolia thought, and it took her a moment to understand -- Father.
But he didn't need called. Pawsteps thundered closer, and his scent was suddenly overwhelming as it closed in.
His eyes were all for her. It was... cute, in a way. Magnolia wanted to fuel the jab of jealousy that threatened, but also felt as if Saga deserved it. Sure, she and Laurel had gotten beat up a good bit since they'd last been seen: not just the bites from Joxer, but the scars and the limp leftover from injuries the wraiths had left her!
But Saga... Saga was so much worse.
Saga was not so strong as her daughters.

Magnolia averted her gaze to the ground as Jaxxon barreled forward to join his mates side, especially when his gaze flashed over her too. Saga had been beside him for so much, had let herself fall to such a state in order to save their children, and now she was paying the price.
Jaxx didn't even say anything to them, just murmured to Saga and called for the healer.

It was Ezra that stormed in like a cloud full of lightning, commanding first that someone run to Eldritch to help her, to give her a heads up. Magnolia shifted like she thought to go, but looked around -- anyone else would be faster than her hobbling gait, but if nobody else would bother, then she would!
His voice cracked like a storm, too.

'Explain to your Einvald exactly what the fuck happened here. Who did this?!'

Magnolia's ears flicked back.

Joxer, she rumbled, voice uncharacteristically soft; whether in simmering wrath or stewing guilt, it was not clear. Joxer had Laurel and me. She gulped, but lifted her chin proudly, yet refused to meet his red eyes - so much like her Mother's. She fought like a dozen warriors to help free us on the night we ran. She... was just too far from the others. Jaws gritted together, and though she looked as if she might've said something else, she just shook her head and started walking.

She'd find the Völva herself.

Unless stopped, just a brief cameo from Magnolia as she goes to meet Eldritch

Between Snuh and Rurik the trio shouldered the wounded wolf back towards home. It was a long arduous task, it felt like it took forever and the stench of blood and injuries tainted the air, and not the kind he usually enjoyed.

It placed him in a weird place, normally he'd be overjoyed to be a part of this, but right now he felt wounded himself. He hadn't been there to do his job and protect Saga, would he be punished by mother?

Sighing as they approached the male listened as Jaxxon whimpered and cowered beside his mate, soon calling for his Aunt the medic. He nodded as Ezra approached and told somebody to meet El, he nodded to the other and took off towards where he knew she would be coming from, or hoped, and swiftly skirted past Magnolia as if she weren't there. His only focus on getting the wounded packmate what she needed.

RE: Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Eldritch - 8/24/2026

SKILL: Doctor (tentative, not sure if this one will count)

It would be helpful to know all the injuries Saga has, and their locations on her body if that's possible? My pings are always open <333

In the dulling light of dusk, Eldritch had been in a meditative state, uttering softly in Icelandic - prayers for the Gods, that the missing would be returned home.
As soon as she was finishing, Jaxxon's howl pierced the air - a summons for help, almost immediately followed by the wafting tang of blood and sour note of infection.

Cursing under her breath, the Gydja hastily closed her prayer, immediately moving to her gardens to pluck several herbs into another rabbit skin - Fireweed, Osha Root, Elder and Mallow Blossoms, Gentian Root, Yarrow-

These would have to do for now, she could not bring the entire garden in one trip!

Eldritch gathered them all into the rabbit skin, plucking the makeshift pouch into her teeth as she raced down the slopes to get to the newly arrived party.
The willowy wraith eventually saw Abaddon and Magnolia rushing to meet her, but she barely even slowed, skirting them both with nimble legs - from here, the tang was strong enough to follow.

She assumed Abaddon and Magnolia would run with her to rejoin the group - she had a feeling she might need all of their help soon enough in getting Saga to her den for further aid!

The Witch continued on regardless, only beginning to slow when she saw the group - and a very, very bloody Saga.
She wished to speed faster, but she could not further risk her herbs, instead sufficing to slow into a loping trot until she finally got close enough to do her job - "Make room. I must inspect every injury. I can work here for now, but she will need moved to my den sooner rather than later."

RE: Blacked out, pop queen, amphetamine - Snuh - 8/27/2026

The weight was heavy on her back. She was carrying Saga on her back, after Rurik and Abanddon shared the load in carrying her. Her weight wasn't an issue, but seeing everyone's faces, the defeated and tired looks they all had. That was the worst feeling she had ever felt, she failed. She failed her sister, and her pack, her Einvald's. She felt so utterly defeated in the moment, unable to speak a word when Saga's mate Jaxxon came running to her side.

Ezra demanded and explanation, and she couldn't muster a word to say to anyone. Tears started to fall from her face, from the shame she felt on herself for not being there for Saga. Her niece was able to tell them what had happened, what this Joxxer tried to do with the children and how Saga saved them. If only she had been there, this would've been a different reunion. Soon the Volva Eldritch came up to her, examining her sister as she relayed instructions. All Snuh could do was nod with her commands, as tears still poured down her cheeks.
