bottom of the deep blue sea

Aika —

A cool breeze kicked up, rolling down the strip of the familiar beach and unsettling the sands.

Over the western horizon, the sun had already begun to set, drenching the sky in the warm hues of the golden hour. Makara's fur waved, tousling in the breeze, his underbelly still wet from a swim he'd had earlier in the day. He'd spent part of the day restocking some of the cache with a fresh supply of sea fish. Not many of the Fujiwara wolves were ... overly interested in fish, but they were easy to supply. And they were food.

Besides, it was an excuse to swim.

Soon, the water would get far too cold to continue these longer hunts. The winter chill already threatened as the fall moved into full swing. The days were shorter, and the nights were colder. So Makara enjoyed the evenings while he could, strolling through the soft sands along the edges of the Rest. His eyes scanned the shore, eyeing the shells and sea glass that glittered in the dying sunlight.

And he would smile softly, brushing his paw over the trove of treasures that lay only half buried at his toes.

Welcome Back!

Greetings Stranger!
