Instead, the man dared move himself closer towards the priestess, and Ruito saw this as open-door permission for an attack. At once, the dark samurai’s strides broke into a sprint. A nasty snarl rippled through the air as he sought to aim for the man’s shoulder – until he was stopped.
By Nana, herself.
His paws skid against the softened earth as he halted before the ivory priestess. A panicked suck of air sieved from his lips, out of fear that he may topple over her by accident. Thankfully, Ruito did not – landing to where his chin hovered just above her head where he stood. A crimson gaze searched her own clear water eyes – perplexity wrinkling his brows as if to ask what was going on.
Then the man speaks.
And Ruito raises his gaze to look towards him. A sneer contorting his features.
I should be the one asking that question, outsider.Ruito interrupts.
--and for your sake, the answer better be 'yes'.A thinly-vield, resolute threat. He would not leave Nana in the presence of this stranger, even if she did confirm that she was fine.
Yet Ruito would wait patiently, in silence, for her to explain who this was, and what he was doing over the boarders.
When his gaze fell upon her again, any and all sign of annoyance he directed towards the man had softened. Afterall, this was not Nana's fault.....if he had come to the boarders earlier, she wouldn't have felt the need to leave her chambers in the first place. Certainly not in her condition.
Perhaps his own unreliability as a friend was why she could not trust him with her secrets, either....
