Had she been talking down about herself?
Eloise was merely felt she was telling the truth. She was miserable. felt miserable, too. If not for the pain writhing within her body with every movement, then the consuming loneliness and inescapable mourning. Yet how gentle the man before her was in her most fragile state, she could never fathom. Many would seek to take advantage of an injured, vulnerable fae. To which she hoped was the case -- but this? Maybe, Ellie could tolerate this. She smiles at him.
-and then she laughs, strained -- with as much as she could muster without feeling a sting. "Why, sir Magen, I never doubted my strength for a second." It's true. A knight did not call themselves as such without the confidence to carry such a title. Even in a state like hers. A physical battle she could handle -- yet the mental battle that went on within her psyche was what really bothered her.
A fight with others was much easier that a fight with oneself. This man seemed to understand that much more than Ellie had. "Though I appreciate you staying here to remind me of that." Slowly, Eloise descended onto her stomach. Wincing a bit as she shifted.
"--and I certainly wouldn't mind the company."
