He'd had the early morning shift to give Fable some extra sleep. He was more on edge now with Epona still missing and the babies so little still. He had taken to the borders far too often that he was fairly sure he'd run tracks down in the grasses. Fox had never managed to find his máthair chéil and if not for the babies he might have gone further out and taken longer trips but he dared not leave them vulnerable. Fable once had implored him to stay and defend the girls while she took her own trek for the sake of the world.
But then there had been Talamh and there had been a strange peace he hadn't expected. Life was comfortable there, even if he was glad to be back in Avon. He missed the thumbs fiercely too. As he was returning from his most recent check he spotted Spider and his sister-in-law Fleta. His tail wagged a couple times in a friendly manner as he neared them.
