For lovely miss Rio! Backdated to the Tianlong wedding! (keeping the exact day vauge-ish)

The empress had found herself indulging in a little more alcohol than she'd intended to that night.

If not for the sight of the wedding itself and the lively souls who had attended the gathering, for the sight of her own wolves participating amongst the fray. Forever grateful was she that the dynasty was back together as one, and a swell of pride overtook her at the sight of it. A toast was deserved -- though with no one in particular as she sat on the sidelines and took in the sight of it all.

--and what a beautiful sight it was, too.

She got to watch the emperor of Tianlong and his bride join as one -- and her mind couldn't help but wander on the day she might see Aika one day be wed off to a man who will treat her as gently as she treated others. Or her beloved brother Taro -- if he'd been able to hunt down a woman with the same obsession he held with hunting yokai. The crane bird fondly imagined that one day, young Yume who'd find a suitable match that could see her for what she was beyond her illness, and that young Haruto would catch the eye of a woman just as studious and hardworking as him. Yoshi was still....a mystery to her -- and so was Hideo Fujiwara. Yet the mystery that conflicted her the most was her.

The chemistry between Osamu and Izumi had been astray since that night.....bringing up a possible future with him now would be risky. She didn't even know if he wanted to....

She chucked another mouthful of berries in haste -- not wishing to let her mind wander to a subject she didn't wish to think of...

Welcome Back!

Greetings Stranger!
