Dreams of blackness, emptiness, hollow nothingness filled his young mind as he slept. Kicking occasionally from a jerk in his muscles or letting out a whimper into the air, his head thrusting into the air above him with a shout as he dreamt of his shell.

He felt a jab to his rear and let out a loud yelp of surprise and scrambled to his paws, blinking and whirling quickly onto his heels as mother told him to get up, that he was with her that day. Nodding in understanding the boy let out a yawn and clacked his dark jowls shut, trailing behind the much larger woman, his head level with his shoulders and lowered with curious eyes.

Bruce felt his eyes flutter open and closed with the sleepiness of his circadian rhythm and shook it off, dragging his feet and occasionally getting bit on the rear as a reminder to keep up. He blinked as he finally came next to momma and trotted to keep her pace, his eyes wandering her massive form to find a reason why they were out so late at night.
