Ranger

He's seen others in the distance, patrols next door, borders being marked around Raven's Grove.

It made him nervous, curious.

The sentry perched on a tall rock, looking like he was lounging to the untrained eye, but his head was up. It was easier to see the entire length of this section of the border, the clearing between the bottom of the mountain that slowly turned into a treeline, easier to keep an eye on things. He had grown to like living on the mountain, climbing was a concept he hadn't really gotten the hang of until very recently after all.

Going from the amphitheatre, arena, which he had spent the first part of his life, to the swamps, to the flatter lands of Ichorwood, he hadn't even considered a thing like climbing until he had to during his patrols on the mountain. It gave him a new perspective on things, literally.

He was curious about the new neighbors too, but of course he wouldn't leave, it was...not his strong suit. Meeting other creatures, talking to them. That was Raisa's thing, Journey's, The Queen's. His duty was to protect them, though he hasn't had to yet.

He was ready though, to fight if he needed to.

He was ready to be the muscle, the backup, should one of them leave to go meet with the neighbors.

But for now, he was a quiet sentinel, tail tip lightly twitching as the sun was rising.

Watching, ears on swivel for the crunching of snow and dirt.

Wardruna trailed the strong scent of the cat to the southern borders of their home, where beyond the dark silhouette of the raven forest could be seen in the distance. For now, Carnifex studying would be put aside, as Wardruna commanded the tiger's attention with a sharp bark. Her stance was one risen with pride and might, despite the obvious size difference between the pair. Her tail high, rigid above her.

Wardruna was a large wolf and with it she had learned her place on the battlefield, her capability, her weaknesses. It was the same with the hunt. She was slower than many of her brethren, clumsy at a full run the same. Wardruna was well practiced as the take down for large prey. Yet this? A tiger. Like a bear, one swipe could very well be the end of her. In this situation, as any many when it came to survival, the lone wolf would die, yet the pack would survive.

The tiger, slower, a predator which got tired far easier, would not last against a number of wolves, but this was no true battle. Wardruna was only curious to see the might of a tiger in action, one which now held a place as Sentry among her people. She woofs again, tail waving like a banner back and forth and she stomps her feet playfully against the cool earth.

she can be skipped, moreso a cameo! she's at the edge of the area looking toward the mountain, a little too far for a conversation unless all of them get closer to one another xD

In an effort to explore the inner depths, outer reaches, and at last the transition between the trees of her grove and the terrain of the next, Elvie traveled north. She had begun to understand the dimensions of her territory, had marked where she felt a good enough border could exist, and had begun to notice the tinier paths and shortcuts that could offer her friends an easier access to the various territories within.

What she had yet to do, however, was scope out what other territories and packs might live around them.

Perhaps it should’ve been one of the first things she should’ve done, but alas, here they were.

At least, she was doing it now.

Her steps drew her out from the grove of the trees, where in the distance, she could see the nicely cut silhouette of snow-peaked mountains on the horizon. Beautiful, Elvie had thought, but before her eyes had turned away, she swore she caught the shadow of something large in the distance.

It was too far for her eyes to discern, and yet, she stared at the shadows nevertheless.

Was something--or someone--out there?
